How to do Vertical Text Selection in Microsoft Word?

In Word you can have vertical selection by holding down the ALT key when selecting text. This is especially useful if you need to modify structured text in Word.

Also a Tip on Hyperlinks with PowerPoint:

You're in a meeting, you click on a link in PowerPoint only to find it no longer works! A frequent cause of such faults are the standard settings for hyperlinks in documents on your PC. To reduce the risk that working on a team document invalidates your colleagues' hyperlinks, you should uncheck the Update links on save box in the PowerPoint settings under Tools > Options > General > Web Options... > Files.
